Product Information

Product Name: Pancreatic Protease (1:250) (from Porcine Pancreas) Product Number: GC305003-10g Specifications: 10g

Product Description: Pancreatic Protease is commonly used in the dispersion of tissue cells in in vitro and primary cell cultures, as well as the digestion and dispersion of adherent cells in subcultures. The digestion solution typically includes Pancreatic Protease, EDTA, and other enzymes to hydrolyze proteins (such as extracellular matrix proteins) and disperse tissues or adherent cells into single cells for further experimentation.

Special Notes:

  1. Due to variations in tissue or cell properties, the optimal digestion time should be determined based on specific circumstances. Prolonged digestion may negatively impact cell adhesion and growth.
  2. This product does not contain antimicrobial agents. Sterile techniques should be employed during use to prevent contamination of the digestion solution.
  3. Prolonged storage at 4°C is not recommended, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. It is advised to aliquot and store in frozen form when using small quantities.

Instructions for Use: The usage and dosage of biochemical reagents are primarily determined based on the experimental purposes of the customer and existing literature or protocols. The following applications are provided for reference only:

  1. Pancreatic Protease can be used for cell digestion in cell culture. For the preparation of a 0.25% trypsin digestion solution, weigh 0.25g of trypsin and add it to 100ml of PBS, HBSS, or serum-free culture medium. Stir gently to avoid foam formation (which can damage proteins), filter sterilize, and the solution is ready for use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
  2. Pancreatic Protease can be used for tissue digestion in primary cultures, such as the cultivation of neonatal rat cortical astrocytes. For a 0.125% trypsin digestion solution, weigh 0.125g of trypsin and add it to 100ml of PBS or HBSS. During digestion, gently agitate the tissue every 5 minutes.

Precautions:

  1. Unless specified otherwise, our biochemical reagents are generally non-sterile. If used for cell experiments, pre-treatment for sterility is required.
  2. Once prepared as a solution, aliquot and store to avoid product degradation caused by repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
  3. For your safety and health, please wear appropriate laboratory attire and disposable gloves during handling.
