Description
Product Information:
Product Name: 150 Mesh Nickel Grids for Carbon Film (Round Holes) Product Code: WFHM-150N Specification: Individual Grid
Product Description:
This product is a nickel grid commonly used for transmission electron microscopy (TEM), serving as a sample holder. The grid is made of nickel, and it is referred to as a “nickel grid.” Depending on the material used, grids can also be called copper grids, molybdenum grids, gold grids, nylon grids, etc. Nickel grids are often used individually as “naked grids” in biological sample preparation. They can be used in combination with a microtome to pick up samples from the water trough and then undergo further processing before observation under the electron microscope. In most TEM sample preparations, to ensure the samples adhere to the grid, an organic film is coated on the grid, known as the “support film.” This type of grid with a support film is called “supported grid.” When the sample contacts the supported grid, it firmly adheres to the support film, preventing it from slipping out of the holes, allowing for observation under the electron microscope.
Carbon Film: The carbon film has a certain degree of support strength, is resistant to electron beam bombardment, has high electron beam transmittance, and does not undergo chemical reactions with the sample during transmission observation. It does not affect the structural integrity of the sample itself.
