Product Description

The Western Protein Marker II is a pre-stained protein marker used for visualization. It is composed of seven highly pure recombinant proteins and three pre-stained recombinant proteins. The marker indicates protein molecular weights ranging from 30 to 209 kDa (approximately 30, 38, 50, 62, approximately 70, 78, approximately 105, 113, 154, 209 kDa). The 70 kDa band is pre-stained in pink, while the 30 and 105 kDa bands are pre-stained in blue. This allows for the convenient monitoring of protein electrophoresis or assessment of protein transfer efficiency. The seven recombinant proteins (38, 50, 62, 78, 113, 154, 209 kDa) can bind to almost all types of antibodies (except for chicken antibodies). They can be used in conjunction with target proteins and visualized through ECL or other methods.

Product Features:

  1. The 70 kDa band is pre-stained in pink, while the 30 and 105 kDa bands are pre-stained in blue, facilitating the observation of electrophoresis status, assessment of transfer efficiency and direction.
  2. The seven marker bands can be visualized together with the target proteins, enabling prompt determination of the molecular weight of the target proteins after staining (eliminating the need for classic methods of marking and comparing protein standard bands on the membrane).
  3. The seven marker bands are not labeled or conjugated with other molecules, resulting in more accurate indications of protein molecular weight.

Storage and Transportation:

Transported with ice packs (wet ice); store at -20°C with a shelf life of 12 months.

Here are the operating steps:

  1. This product is ready-to-use and does not require the addition of reducing agents or heating. Thaw the Western Protein Marker stored at -20°C to room temperature, gently mix well before use.
  2. Due to variations in antibody potency in the market, it is recommended that laboratories perform a preliminary experiment to determine the appropriate dilution ratio based on their own experimental conditions and practices. This approach can help save costs and achieve better experimental results. (Developer’s suggestion for reference only: For experiments using mouse-derived primary antibodies, it is recommended to use 5 μL of this product along with the experimental samples for protein electrophoresis. For experiments using rabbit-derived primary antibodies, it is recommended to dilute this product 4 times using the provided Dilution Buffer and use 5 μL of the diluted marker along with the experimental samples for protein electrophoresis.)
  3. After use, promptly store the Western Protein Marker at -20°C (it is recommended to aliquot and store for future use).

Here are the precautions:

  1. The Western Protein Marker should not be heated or boiled at 100°C, as it may cause degradation or loss of protein bands.
  2. If the visible bands of the Western Protein Marker appear too intense, you can dilute it with the Dilution Buffer before use. Dilution will result in a corresponding reduction in the intensity of the three pre-stained protein bands in the marker, which is a normal phenomenon.
  3. For your safety and health, please wear laboratory attire and disposable gloves while handling the product.
