Product Description

LB solid medium ( powder) is LB broth agar medium premixed powder. It is a powder mixed with BD peptone, Oxoid yeast powder, high-purity agar powder and sodium chloride. Each bag is 100 mL, containing 1.0 g peptone, 0.5 g yeast powder, 1.0 g sodium chloride and 2 g agar powder, which were used to prepare LB solid plates. We also provide LB liquid medium (dry powder) (G3102) without agar powder. LB medium is a commonly used medium in microbiology experiments.

Ship and store at room temperature, valid for 24 months.

Assay Protocol

Each bag of LB solid medium (dry powder) is poured into a glass conical flask (150 mL volume) filled with 100 mL of water, then sealed the bottle with cotton gauze, and autoclaved at 121°C for 15 min. After cooling to 50-60℃, shake and mix evenly, then pour it into a sterile petri dish to prepare LB solid plate. Antibiotics can be added according to experimental requirement.

Note

1. The product is rich in nutrients. It is recommended to autoclave as soon as possible after being dissolved in water to avoid bacterial contamination.

2. The temperature of the medium for preparing the plate should not be too high, otherwise the plate will produce a large amount of condensed water after cooling.

3. When preparing culture plates, it is recommended to operate in a clean bench to prevent bacterial contamination.
