Product Introduction
BrdU (5-Bromo-2′-Deoxyuridine) is a thymidine analogue that can competitively replace thymidine (T) during DNA synthesis in the S phase of the cell cycle. When BrdU is incorporated into actively dividing cells, the presence of BrdU can be detected using the Anti-BrdU (mouse monoclonal antibody) from the Anti-BrdU Detection Kit (G4102). This kit utilizes specific antibodies conjugated to enzymes or fluorophores as an indicator system. By combining with other cell markers, dual labeling can determine the type and rate of proliferating cells. This is of significant importance in studying cell dynamics. BrdU, when injected in vivo or added to cell cultures, is accurately positioned in tissue cells and incorporated into DNA. It efficiently reflects the level of newly synthesized DNA during the S phase, with minimal influence from cellular or environmental factors.

Instructions
Animal Experiment: Dissolve BrdU powder in physiological saline to make a 10 mg/mL solution. Filter-sterilize it and keep it for use. Administer intraperitoneally at a dose of 50 mg/kg. Inject four times with a 2-hour interval between each injection, and euthanize the animals 24 hours after the final injection.
Cell Experiment: The concentration and treatment time of BrdU depend on the cell type. For faster proliferating cells like tumor cells, lower concentrations and shorter exposure times are generally used. For slower proliferating cells like fibroblasts or epithelial cells, higher concentrations and longer exposure times are recommended. The suggested concentration range is 20-100 μM, and the exposure time is 40 minutes to 4 hours. The table below provides common concentrations and times for commonly tested cell types.
Cell Type | BrdU Concentration (μM) | Incubation Time (min) |
