Description

Eosin Y Solution (Alcoholic) is intended for use in histology and cytology applications. This Eosin Y Solution provides the benefits of a traditional alcoholic formula with significant improvements in usability. Advantages include lower evaporation rate, better color patterns, reduced tendency to spill over container, hands, and countertops, and improved surface tension to remain on tissue section. After tissue sections or cells are stained, the cytoplasm are light pink, collagen are pink, the muscle are pink/rose, erythrocytes are  pink/red.

Storage and Handling Conditions

Store and transport at room temperature. Valid for 18 months.

Usage

1. Deparaffinize sections if necessary and hydrate to distilled water.

2. Dip slide in 85% alcohol for 3-5 min, and then 95% alcohol for 3-5 min, and blot excess off.

3. Apply adequate Eosin Y Solution (Alcoholic) to completely cover tissue section to excess and incubate for 2-5 minutes.

4. Rinse slide using absolute alcohol.

5. Dehydrate slide in 3 changes of absolute alcohol.

6. Clear slide and mount in synthetic resin.

Note

1. The purity of anhydrous ethanol used for dehydration should be greater than 99.9%. If ethanol contains water, Eosin Y will fade and cause uneven staining

2. Eosin Y solution (alcoholic) can be used repeatedly for several times, and it is recommended to replace the new dye when the tissue coloring is obviously shallow

3. Please wear lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
